Dr. Brian Baynes is a serial entrepreneur, inventor, and investor. Prior to launching Verdox, he co-founded sustainability and healthcare companies Petri.bio, Midori Health, Celexion, and Codon Devices.

Previously, Dr. Baynes was a Partner with Flagship Pioneering, where he served as an executive in early-stage ventures and as a Director in sustainability companies Red Rock Biofuels, Joule, Mascoma, Enchi, and Be Power. He was also an engineer at ExxonMobil and a Director in the MIT School of Chemical Engineering Practice at industrial stations in the US, United Arab Emirates, and Japan. He holds a BChE from the University of Delaware and a PhD in chemical engineering from MIT.
